Kick for Change Project
Kick for Change: Empowering Teachers to Fight Drug Abuse in Livingstone.
ReachAllPlay it Forward , and Africanshade have successfully conducted a three-day training for teachers under the Kick for Change Project. The training which started on February 11th to 13th 2025, is aimed at combating drug abuse and addiction in Livingstone by leveraging the strengths of our three organizations:
– Play it Forward – Using the power of sports to engage and educate young people.
– ReachAll – Applying Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) methodologies to foster resilience and informed decision-making.
– African Shade – Providing expert counseling support to help address addiction and its effects.
The training brought together dedicated teachers from Ngwenya, Malota, Zambezi Sawmills, St. Raphael’s, and Hillcrest Technical Secondary School, equipping them with skills to support their students in making healthier choices.
To reinforce the efforts of the three organizations, the Drug Enforcement Commission’s Education Department joined us for a powerful session on drug abuse and its effects. They also showcased commonly abused substances to help teachers identify and address these issues effectively.
Those in attendance were then awarded with certificated to solidify their attendance and participation.
Together, we are making strides in protecting and empowering the youth of Livingstone.
Let’s continue working as a community to Kick for Change.
