PRISCILLA KACHINDA
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT COORDINATOR
Priscilla is an Economic Empowerment Coordinator who oversees the organization’s program and its various projects. Her core belief lies in empowering communities with business and entrepreneurship skills to enable them to improve their household economies and overall livelihoods. Priscilla’s professional achievements include selecting and training women who could not read and write properly, leading them through literacy and entrepreneurship training, and supporting them in starting their own businesses. These women have not only gained reading, writing, and communication skills but also improved their household income, some of them even going back to school to complete their education. Priscilla has also successfully participated in functional literacy activities on International Literacy Day, where the mothers demonstrated their newly acquired functional literacy skills and showcased their locally made products, resulting in Livingstone District winning first place in functional literacy at the national level. Her passions, interests, and hobbies include hospitality, traveling, singing and dancing, cooking and baking, and sports, while her strong values include accountability, transparency, and respect. Her favorite book is “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale.
